Descripción

“EL SOMBRERO DEL ALQUIMISTA invites on a musical journey around the Mediterranean, from Andalusia to the East, to recover timbres, sounds and musical forms which seem forgotten in our country though being part of our cultural and historical development.

Through instruments such as the ney, contrabass, Turkish clarinet and santur, which mix its sound with the guitar and the antique Spanish vihuela, this music takes us on a travel,  magical, exotic and familiar at the same time, as if these instruments  would have been playing together ever since.

It sounds like the echoes of the common sea that unites men, surpassing religions and borders seeking to separate them, creating a both unique and diverse cultural feeling.

Along the route is emerging a new music, full of images and surprising twists, evoking feelings and landscapes of the past, anticipating something that is yet to say, beyond labels, territories and time, expressed in a modern language which combines elements of many kinds of music: Spanish music, old, classical and contemporary, Andalusian, Turkish and oriental melodies, traditional music, jazz, etc.

We invite you to share this journey: you do not need more baggage than an open mind and heart. They sure will come back full of new feelings, rhythm and harmony.”

Listen some fragments of the album:
